General Introduction
The university focuses primarily on transportation-related disciplines, while also covering seven fields of study: engineering, management, science, economics, humanities, arts, and law. It has built three major specialized areas of strength: transportation infrastructure, integrated transportation systems, and vehicle design and manufacturing. The university consists of 19 colleges and departments, offering 53 undergraduate programs and two master's degree programs in transportation and mechanical engineering.
In the global rankings, its engineering discipline is listed in the top 1% of the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database. The university has one high-level discipline in Shandong Province, four provincial key disciplines (at the second level), two nationally recognized specialized programs, and four national "first-class undergraduate program" development points. Additionally, it boasts seven provincial-level specialized programs, 22 provincial "first-class undergraduate program" construction points, four programs accredited under international engineering education standards, and five provincial high-level applied construction programs. The institution has also been involved in the development of one Shandong Province industry-aligned program for educational services supporting the transformation of economic drivers.
In terms of curriculum, the university offers 11 national-level first-class undergraduate courses and 41 provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, with three provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers. It has been approved to establish two modern industrial colleges in Shandong Province, one provincial specialized college, and seven city-university integrated development projects. In the past two years, the university has received one second prize at the national level for teaching achievements and 23 provincial teaching achievement awards, including two special awards, six first prizes, and 15 second prizes.
