I. Training Objectives
The specialty cultivates compound and applied talents who understand national conditions of China, are interested in Chinese culture, understand the political, economic, cultural and social development of contemporary China, are able to attend and promote friendly exchanges and cooperation in related fields between China and its host countries, master basic Chinese knowledge, possess the preliminary ability to use daily language and read Chinese materials of this specialty, possess the foundation of international law and macroeconomics, solid international business theory and practical ability, are able to attend and promote friendly and cooperative relations between China and its host countries, and could skillfully carry out international business activities.
II. Training Specification
The course for this specialty is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and practices of Economics, Cross-cultural Communication, Electronic Commerce, International Trade Theory and Practice, Business English, and Innovative Reading. Additionally, students receive training in Customer Service, Business English Writing, International Marketing, Business Negotiation, and they possess the skills necessary to engage in international e-commerce transactions.
The graduates are expected to acquire knowledge, abilities and qualities in the following areas:
(i) Knowledge structure
1. Knowledge of basic national conditions and humanities and social sciences in China, and basic knowledge such as literature and art. Gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of international law, business frontiers, information science, engineering science, and the key trends and prospects of contemporary international electronic commerce development.
2. Proficiency in Chinese language, with a certain level of proficiency in the five areas of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation.
3. Master the professional theory and knowledge of electronic commerce, get familiar with relevant industry standards, norms and procedures, and understand the professional development trend.
4. Get familiar with the guidelines, policies, laws and regulations on foreign trade and foreign affairs exchanges of the relevant countries.
(ii) Structure
1. Master electronic commerce specialty theory and special approaches, understand the dynamics of the emerging electronic commerce industry, get familiar with domestic and foreign electronic commerce-related guidelines, policies and regulations, possess the learning skills of independent access to electronic commerce-related knowledge, and possess creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial ability based on the fusion of multidisciplinary knowledge.
2. A certain degree of writing and language skills, organizational coordination and communication skills.
3. A certain level of Chinese language proficiency and computer application skills.
4. A certain capacity for self-learning and self-growth.
(iii) Qualitative structure
1. Know China, love China, be friendly to China, posses good moral character and sense of social responsibility, and abide by Chinese national laws and Chinese social morality.
2. With healthy body, sound personality, good psychological quality and behaviour, and a team spirit.
3. Be able to work hard, dedicated to work, and adapt to the difficult working environment.
4. Master the basic theory and knowledge of engineering, focus on theory and practice, with a certain sense of innovation.
III. Length of Schooling, Academic Degree and Credit Requirements
1. Length of schooling: the standard length of schooling is 4 years, with a flexible study period of 4 to 8 years.
2. Degree: Degree in Management is awarded.
3. Credits: Students of this specialty are required to complete 150 credits and pass the graduation design (dissertation) defense for graduation.
