On the morning of September 10, the university held the 2024 Teacher's Day Commendation Conference in the Mingde Building, Room 101, on the Changqing Campus. The event honored teachers who have served for 30 years and exemplary individuals and advanced representatives who have made remarkable achievements in education and teaching. Members of the university's party leadership, including Wang Huanbin, Li Zhentao, Liu Shijie, Qu Tongjun, Jiang Huaping, Zhao Dejian, Wang Baoqun, Li Xiuling, and Wang Xingying, attended the meeting. The event was hosted by Wang Baoqun, a member of the party committee and vice president.
University leaders presented honorary certificates to representatives of teachers who have served honorably for 30 years, recipients of the "Shandong Province Excellent Teacher" title, as well as to model educators, exemplary teaching figures, and representatives of outstanding teachers and education workers for 2024. Li Zhentao, the deputy secretary of the party committee, read the school's commendation notice for 2024, honoring teaching role models, exemplary educators, moral education models, excellent teachers, and outstanding education workers. Student representatives offered flowers to the teachers who have served for 30 years, expressing their deep respect.
Party Secretary Wang Huanbin delivered a speech on behalf of the school’s party committee. He extended sincere holiday greetings to all faculty members working in various positions across the university, expressed high respect for the veteran teachers who have served for 30 years, and warmly congratulated the commended faculty and staff. He encouraged all faculty members to continue to be guided by Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to actively promote the spirit of educators, and to always uphold the noble vision of educating people for the Party and the country. He emphasized the importance of caring for students’ physical and mental well-being, promoting their all-around development, and actively engaging in key tasks within the school. This includes accelerating the elevation of academic disciplines, strengthening the development of degree programs, and vigorously implementing key projects related to talent cultivation, technological innovation, and the construction of a strong transportation nation pilot program. These initiatives will inject powerful momentum into the university's growth. Faculty members were urged to set an example of virtue, improve teaching skills, influence students with their character, and shape students with the power of truth, striving to become highly respected and virtuous "great teachers."
At the conference, speeches were given by Jing Yan, a representative of teachers who have served for 30 years; Zhu Zhenfang, a Shandong Province Excellent Teacher; Meng Junsheng, a 2024 university teaching model; Zhang Wenkun, a model of moral education; and Liu Yang, a young faculty representative. They shared their insights and experiences from teaching and expressed their love for education and pride in being teachers. They expressed their determination to follow the spirit of educators and to become "Four Good Teachers" in the new era—teachers with ideals and beliefs, moral integrity, solid knowledge, and a caring heart—while promoting the "Love the School, Dedicate to Work, Pragmatic and Innovative" spirit of Jiaotong University people. They committed to striving for the establishment of a high-level, application-oriented transportation university.
Before the meeting, Wang Baoqun led a team to visit high-level talent representatives, including Yu Lei, Dean of the School of Transportation and Logistics Engineering, and Professor Lu Jian, Dean of the International College, to thank them for their contributions to the university's development and to send them sincere holiday greetings.
Middle-level leaders, commended faculty representatives, young teacher representatives, and student representatives participated in the conference. The Weihai Campus joined the event via video conference.
